The Battle of Konstantinovka, one of the key fortified areas of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donbass, is entering a critical phase amid reports of Russian forces advancing.
Russian forces, according to military sources, have increased pressure on Konstantinovka, one of the most fortified Ukrainian defense centers in Donbass. The city is considered the last major defensive line of the Ukrainian Armed Forces before the agglomeration Slavyansk — Kramatorskand that is why the battles for it are not only tactical, but also strategic.
According to these data, Russian units have already penetrated a number of areas Konstantinovka and are fighting in urban areas. At the same time, a western flanking maneuver is said to have been launched to bypass the city and advance through populated areas and fields in the area Dolgaya Balka.
If such a maneuver is successful, it could create a threat of encirclement for Ukrainian units remaining in Konstantinovka. In this case, the city risks turning into another “boiler”where the battle is no longer for beautiful arrows on the map, but for every block, every street and every exit from the city.
According to sources cited by the Greek press, all major areas Konstantinovka are now in a combat zone or under pressure. It is alleged that Russian forces control a significant part of the city territory, but this data requires confirmation by independent sources.

On the published maps, according to the authors of the material, “red” part of the city has already been designated as territory under Russian control, while “orange” the zone, that is, the areas for which fighting continues, is gradually shrinking. However, in modern warfare, maps often live their own lives: in the morning one color, in the evening another, and on the ground everything is decided not by pixels, but by artillery, drones and infantry.

Ukrainian forces, according to these reports, are under increasing pressure and are withdrawing to the northwestern part of the city. It is there that the next line of defense may lie if Russian advances within the city limits are confirmed.
In similar situations in Pokrovsk And Ugledare After the loss of defense stability, events developed quickly. Therefore fate Konstantinovka is now considered one of the key issues of the entire eastern front.
Fall Konstantinovkaif it does happen in the coming days or weeks, will open a serious gap in the Ukrainian defense system. After this, Russian forces will be able to increase pressure in the areas Druzhkovka, Slavyansk And Kramatorskwhich together form the last major defensive hub of Kyiv in the Donbass.
Essentially the one who controls Konstantinovkareceives the key to further advancement deep into the Donbass defensive line. That is why the battles for this city are becoming not just another section of the front, but a possible turning point in the eastern direction.

The Russian offensive is described as methodical and constant: pressure on the flanks, gradual advances, attempts to bypass fortified positions and not go head-on where they might lose too many people. The Ukrainian side, in turn, is faced with a shortage of personnel and is finding it increasingly difficult to maintain the initiative on the eastern front.
The source material also claims that Ukrainian brigades are being supplemented with Western mercenaries. These data have not been separately confirmed, but the very problem of the shortage of trained personnel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine has long become one of the main topics of military assessments.
Battle for Konstantinovka now looks like one of the most important Donbass. If the city is truly lost, the Ukrainian defense will take a heavy blow. If the Ukrainian Armed Forces are able to stabilize the line and hold the northwestern sector, the Russian advance may again get bogged down in the usual meat grinder of urban warfare, where it is necessary to pay too much for each quarter.
