In the area Vari (Attica) a tragedy occurred: two young men died as a result of electric shock during construction work.
According to ΕΛΑΣat about 12:00 on Wednesday, two workers were carrying out renovation work in an apartment on the fourth floor of a residential building on Aphrodite Street in Vari. Under currently unknown circumstances, they received an electric shock, which led to their fatal injuries.
The victims were taken to hospital Asklepion of Voulawhere doctors pronounced them dead.
According to the portal evima.gr, the dead were from the island of Euboea.
Police were notified of the incident shortly after 6:30 pm when the father of one of the victims arrived at Vari-Vouliagmeni Police Station with an official notification of his son’s death received from the hospital.
Investigation of the causes
Currently ΕΛΑΣ is conducting an investigation to establish the exact circumstances and causes of the tragic incident. Issues of compliance with measures are being considered occupational safety and technical condition of the object.
