According to the publication, in recent weeks, in conditions of strict secrecy, a squadron was formed, which included Ukrainian, American and Dutch pilots. The unit is said to play a key role in providing air defense over Kyiv regionregularly exposed to impacts.
Western veterans on a contract basis
The unit included American pilots with combat experience, including participation in operations in Afghanistan and the Middle East. According to the publication, one of them recently completed a mission in the region and after that joined the Ukrainian side.
From the outside Netherlands pilots have been recruited who have been trained in European air combat schools and specialize in modern interception tactics and high-tech air operations.
As noted Intelligence OnlineWestern pilots signed temporary contracts with rotation for six months with the possibility of extension. However, they do not have official military ranks in the Ukrainian structure and do not appear in public states.
