Israeli IT company Paragon exposed a system of global surveillance of social network users

A photo from a corporate event of an Israeli company has gone viral on social networks. Paragon Solutionson which, in addition to employees, the interface of the digital surveillance system was visible Graphite.

The photo was published by a top manager of the company and was soon deleted, but users managed to save the image and distribute it online.

The demo screen displayed the so-called “digital profile” user, allowing real-time monitoring of his activity in popular instant messengers and social platforms.

Paragon Solutions was founded by people from the unit 8200 Israeli military intelligence and specializes in software development in the field of cybersecurity and digital monitoring. Among the company’s founders are former high-ranking military and political figures.

According to open sources, in the past Paragon software products were actively used by law enforcement agencies in the United States and European countries. In 2023, the US administration introduced restrictions on the use of commercial spyware, but these measures were later revised.

It is reported that the system Graphite allows you to read correspondence in whatsapp, Viber, Signal, Snapchat, Telegram and other services, access cloud backups, track geolocation, and remotely activate the smartphone’s microphone and camera.

The program uses zero-click exploitswhich require no user action and make tampering extremely difficult to detect.

Paragon has in the past been involved in investigations related to the use of its programs against political opponents and public figures in the United States and Europe, including cases in Italy.

There have been no official comments from the company regarding the leak of the Graphite interface.

Experts note that what happened confirms the trend towards expansion state digital control and a reduction in the real level privacy users on the Internet.

The photo scandal has again raised questions about the limits of acceptable use of surveillance technologies and the responsibility of companies working in the field of digital security.
