Trial in Larisaassociated with video recordings of the tragedy in Tempiis taking place in conditions of high tension and conflict between the parties, which became obvious already in the first days of the hearings in the case of train accident.
Against the backdrop of the meetings Nikos Plakias made a statement emphasizing that video recordingslocated in the case materials, do not confirm the version of the presence illegal cargo on a commercial train.
According to him, the court case contains four videos from four different cameras – three cameras O.S.E. (Organization of Greek Railways) and one camera store in Leptokarya.
It is stated that these materials have been certified and identified Office of Forensic Research ELAS (Greek police) and forensic experts who carried out examination.
According to Plakias, the videos are one hundred percent authentic and show that the freight train was not carrying any illegal cargo in the place where, for three years, various experts and specialists have argued otherwise.
He also expressed bewilderment that a year after the publication of the video materials, none of the lawyers relatives of the victimsquestioning their authenticity, did not file either a criminal complaint or a civil suit against ELAS or the lawyer who provided the records.
Simultaneously trial was accompanied by a serious incident in the courtroom. During the interrogation of witness Antonis Psaropoulos, a conflict arose between the person accompanying defense lawyer Vasilis Kapernaros and the relatives of the victims.
After the hearing was temporarily interrupted, a statement was made that a trial was being conducted and not “theatrical performance”which caused a sharp reaction from the relatives of the victims.
Relatives stated that they are not part of any theater but are bereaved people seeking justice and outraged by what they say is happening devaluation of human life.

In a democratic state mistrust is not a threat. The threat is a situation in which citizens are forced to doubt not because of rumors, but because of lack of convincing and timely responses.
