56 year old, mother of one childwas returning home when powerful stream of waterformed after the rain, knocked her off her feet. Streams of mud and stones dragged her under a parked carwhere she was trapped and choked.
According to available information, the deceased worked teachertaught children at school and a private educational center.

Dramatic moments of salvation described by eyewitnesses who witnessed the tragedy.
“Only her legs were visible. There was nothing we could do to save her. The current was too strong. She probably hit herself when the water carried her and could not hold on.”– said one of the witnesses.
Another eyewitness reported that the woman tried to hold on to the carhowever, a stormy stream and ferment materials coming down from the mountainthey hit her with force, leaving no chance.
Firefighters and area residents did everything possible to free the woman, however the injuries received were fatal.
The mayor of Glyfada expressed condolences to the family of the deceased Giorgos Papanicolaou.
How the tragedy happened
The owner of the car under which the woman was trapped spoke about the fatal seconds of the incident: “I heard screams, called my father, the neighbors shouted: “Someone help the woman!”,” he recalls.
According to him, first the woman still showed signs of lifebut then lost consciousness: her head was under waterand stones and dirt quickly accumulated around.
