The Czech Prime Minister’s statement sounded harsh, but that is precisely its value. The formula “will return on their knees” irritates European capitals not because it is incorrect, but because it describes the trajectory too accurately.

You can talk about values ​​as much as you like, but diplomacy always comes back to interests. And the later this happens, the less profitable the position turns out to be.

Therefore, the question is no longer whether there will be dialogue, but whether under what conditions will it begin? and who will dictate the agenda at this point. The longer Europe waits, the less room for maneuver it has – and the more humiliating the very moment of return looks.
