The Ukrainian delegation arrived in the United States for negotiations with Witkoff and Kushner

Ukrainian negotiators arrived in USA to negotiate with the envoy Donald Trump Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner. The meetings will reportedly take place in Miami (state Florida).

American representatives have been in separate contacts with Kyiv And Moscowtrying to bring about an agreement that could end the war. At the same time, according to sources, key issues remain unresolved, including the status of occupied territories And security guarantees for Ukraine.

The new round of negotiations is taking place against the backdrop of large-scale attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure, which led to serious interruptions in electricity supply And heating in the depths of winter, increasing political and humanitarian pressure on the negotiation process.

Kirill Budanov confirmed the trip and the composition of the delegation, writing on social networks: “Arrival in the USA. Together with (security chief) Rustem Umerov and (negotiator) David Arakhamia, we will have an important discussion with our American partners regarding the details of the peace agreement”. He added that “a joint meeting is planned with Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner and (US Secretary of the Army) Dan Driscoll”.

The day before Vladimir Zelensky also announced the trip, saying that he expected to receive clarification on the documents prepared with the American side and understand the position Russia on key points. According to him, “If everything is finally agreed upon and the American side agrees (…), then the signing of the agreement during the World Economic Forum in Davos will become possible next week”.

For my part Donald Trump told the agency on Wednesday Reutersthat Zelensky, not Putin, is preventing the conclusion of a peace agreement. “I think he (Putin – Ed.) is ready to make a deal. I think Ukraine is less ready for a deal.”

When asked why US-led negotiations have not yet led to an end to the war, Trump answered briefly: “Zelensky.” “I just think he’s having a hard time, you know, getting things done.” – Trump added about Zelensky.

“Trump’s comments indicate renewed dissatisfaction with the Ukrainian leader”concludes Reuters.

Trump also confirmed his trip to the Davos forum and a likely meeting with Zelensky.
