Interview Prime Minister of Albania for a Greek-American journalist grew into exchange of sharp comments.
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama made provocative statements in his statements at the renewable energy conference in the United Arab Emirates, claiming that “The Greeks are not the descendants of Plato and Aristotle.”
In particular, while participating in an international forum, E. Rama gave an interview to a Greek-American journalist working in the region, which developed into an exchange of sharp comments.
At the beginning of the conversation, the journalist mistakenly addressed the Prime Minister as “Ramy” instead of “Frame”. Edi Rama ironically replied: “You are Greek, that’s why you changed my name.”
A little later, when the journalist corrected an accidental error in the figures, the Albanian Prime Minister ironically remarked thato “you Greeks, when bills need to be paid, you remove zeros, and when others pay, you add zeros”adding sarcastically that “That’s why Europe loves you.”
In another part of the interview, Rama asked the journalist if he knew a particular Arab scientist. When he answered in the negative, the Prime Minister of Albania said: “As a Greek, you should have known him better.”. And continuel: “You (Greeks) always underestimate people, you think that you have a monopoly on philosophy and that you are the heirs of Plato and Aristotle. But that’s not true.”
Rama does not hesitate to insult Greece and the Greeks at every opportunity.
(I will repeat what I said earlier), writes Andreas StalidisAlbanian television bombards viewers with dozens of similar messages every day “political” and “historical” programs. Yes, there they do not oppose their government, they deal with issues that shape their national identity, even if these issues stem from an inferiority complex.
When, in such a dynamic environment, Albanians see how their Prime Minister repeats or gives rise to his statements, we all understand that this is where all this hostility comes from, which we encounter every day in the media, in stupid comments and propaganda statements, for example, that Omir wrote in Albanian, that the Albanian language has existed for 6000 years, that in 1821 the Albanians did it, that the Greeks do not exist, but they are Turks or Ethiopians (!), etc.
Such small doses are enough to support Albania’s aggressive propaganda machine…
