By 2.5% will increase by 2026 insurance premiums non-employees – free professionals, self-employed and farmers.
The reason for the increase was that average consumer price index for the twelve month period from January to December 2025 made up +2.5%. This was reported by ELSTAT (Greek Statistical Service)publishing inflation data.
This adjustment is carried out within the framework automatic recalculation mechanismwhich applies to the amounts of insurance categories of non-employees and is already taken into account in the calculations Budget for 2026.
The new value of insurance premiums is formed by multiplying the current amount by the coefficient 1.025until final rounding is applied, which will be approved by the separate administrative (diagnostic) actexpected in the near future.
So, for an insured person who is currently paying, for example, 250 euros per monththe increase will be of the order of 6.25 euros monthly. The final amount will depend on the chosen insurance category.
It should be noted that average annual inflation rate each year is used as an adjustment factor for insurance premiums for non-employees.
The legislation provides that the amount of contributions is increased annually by administrative act by the amount of the change average annual general consumer price index previous year. In case of negative index dynamics, insurance premiums remain at the level of the previous year.
The linking of insurance premiums to inflation will continue in 2026. The validity period of this mechanism has been extended to December 31, 2026since the application of the wage change index has been moved to January 1, 2027.
