Farmers during the national meeting at checkpoint in Nicaea decided to meet with the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis And refuse to hold a rally in Athens.
Representatives of farmers declared their readiness enter into dialogue with the head of government and wait for the outcome of the meeting before determining the next steps of the protest movement.
Tractors will remain on the roadsdemonstrating readiness to continue mobilizations, but without immediate escalation. After negotiations with the government are completed, farmers will conduct new meetingsat which they will evaluate the results of the dialogue and make a decision on the further course of the actions.
Depending on the progress and content of the negotiations, the farmers intend to determine form and intensity of further mobilizations up to, as they emphasize, “the final restoration of justice.”
At the same time, the national conference decided reject the proposal to hold a rally in Athensconsidering that at the current stage such an action will not bring additional benefit to the fight farmers’ movement.
