Denmark is tightening its migration policy: large-scale deportations of illegal migrants and the end of illusions

Denmark announced further tightening of migration policyemphasizing the deportation of illegal migrants and the restoration of full state control over migration flows.

Prime Minister of Denmark Mete Frederiksen stated that the previous liberal model had failed and led to the formation of parallel communities, increasing social tensions and undermining the foundations of the Danish welfare state.

This is not about new declarations, but about expansion of existing deportation mechanisms for persons who do not have a legal right to stay in the country and who refuse to integrate into Danish society.

The government emphasizes that Denmark’s social model cannot function in conditions of uncontrolled migration. According to Frederiksen, the state has a responsibility to protect public safety, social cohesion and trust between citizens.

The authorities actually admit that mistakes of past years – excessive tolerance and the lack of strict requirements for integration – have created long-term problems that now have to be solved by unpopular but necessary measures.

Copenhagen’s policy is being criticized by a number of European structures, but the Danish leadership is demonstrating a readiness to confront Brussels, considering issues of migration and internal security to be the sphere of national sovereignty.

Denmark relies not on slogans, but on controlbelieving that preserving “the happiest country in the world” is impossible without clear rules, responsibility and compliance with the law by everyone who is on its territory.

Editorial comment

Contrast between Denmark And Greece today it is extremely clear. Copenhagen, albeit belatedly, admitted: uncontrolled migration destroys the social stateand began to act harshly, systematically and without regard for political correctness.

Athens has been repeating the mantra of “regulating the flow” for years, while simultaneously continuing accept migrants without real restrictions. Promises replace each other, but in practice the country remains the entrance gate EUa warehouse of human masses and a testing ground for failed pan-European policies.

Denmark defends its model of life. Greece is so far only serving someone else, paying for its own stability.
