Statements about the “harm of mRNA vaccines for fertility” are being spread online: what is known from research data

The publication, which appeared in the public field, contains statements about the allegedly serious influence mRNA vaccines against COVID-19 on reproductive health.

An epidemiologist and an employee are cited as a source McCullough Foundationwhich states that “we now have clear indications that the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines have paralyzed humanity’s reproductive capacity

The following is another quote: “In animal models, they destroy more than 60% of women’s limited egg supply” It also states that “in human data (n=1.3 million), vaccinated women had approximately 33% fewer successful pregnancies compared with unvaccinated women.”

The author of the publication concludes that the “full extent of the consequences” and the effect of vaccines on the body allegedly “has not been tested”, and presents the given figures as “new scientific data.”

Important: the above statements are source statements and require verification. According to CDCcurrently no evidencethat COVID-19 vaccines, including mRNA vaccines, cause fertility problems. It is separately noted that vaccination is also recommended for those planning a pregnancy.

Publications and reviews of the scientific literature that have examined available research generally do not support a link between COVID vaccination and decreased fertility. However, individual studies based on aggregate fertility rates/“successful conceptions” require careful interpretation due to the risk of confounding factors (age, pregnancy planning, access to medicine, social differences, time effects, etc.).
