ΙΝΚΑ: The Christmas table has risen in price by 20% since last year


This year’s Christmas table will rise in price by up to 20% compared to 2024, reports ΙΝΚΑ – Greek Consumer Protection Institute.

According to ΙΝΚΑ’s calculations, the gala dinner for four people for Christmas in 2025 it will cost 178.85 euroswhich corresponds to 44.71 euros per person.

For comparison: last year a similar set of products cost 156.02 euroswhich means a noticeable increase in costs for the average family.

The main burden on the budget comes from meat products. Turkey (2 kg) costs approx. 26 euros, lamb ribs – up to 34 euros for 2 kgA sausages are estimated at approximately 12 euros per kilo.

Price increases are also recorded in the vegetable category: tomatoes – 1.40 euros per half kilogram, cucumbers — 0.70 euros per piece, carrot — 1 euro per 500 grams, potato — 1.25 euros per kilogram.

The situation in the dairy products and cheese segment is no better. Feta costs 6.50 euros for half a kilogram kaseri or gravera9.90 euros for the same volume.

Alcohol and drinks also significantly increase the total amount: bottle of wine – 16 euros, soft drinks — 8 euros for 8 cans, beer – 8.80 euros for four bottles.

Traditional Christmas sweets – melomacarona And courabiedes – add more 19 euros per kilogram. Other desserts cost on average 18 euros per kilofruits – approx. 4.5 euros.

Turkey stuffing remains a separate expense item, the cost of which reaches 17 euros.
