IN Thessaloniki was detained 45 year old beggar after two women were attacked Aristotle Square. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon December 11and caused concern among passers-by who witnessed the incident.
According to police, the man was in the square and was begging. After a verbal altercation with two women – 42 and 51 years old — he, according to the investigation, pushed the younger onecausing her to fall to the ground and then punched older womancausing injury to her eyebrow area.
According to eyewitness accounts, During the incident, the man also spat in the face of one of the women.which further aggravated the situation and caused a sharp reaction from others.
51-year-old victim was delivered by the ΕΚΑΒ brigade to Papageorgiou Hospitalwhere she received medical assistance. After examination and treatment, she was released.
Regarding the detainee a criminal case has been formed under the article about causing bodily harm. Further procedural actions will be determined by the prosecutor’s office.
