On the island Limnos found dead dolphinwashed up on the beach Keros. Of particular concern was round hole on his backwhich leaves open questions about how exactly the animal died.
According to the local portal LimnosLive.gra resident of the area noticed the dolphin in the morning. Judging by the condition of the body, it spent time at sea several hours before he washed ashore.
Photos published online show that the animal’s back has a characteristic hole, the origin of which is not yet clear: we can talk about an injury caused by a ship, the impact of a predator, or even traces of human activity. There are no official conclusions yet.
The find was promptly notified coast guard and other competent services. They have to go through the procedure. reassembly and recycling marine mammal, as well as a preliminary study of the circumstances of its death.
Similar cases are occurring more and more often on the Greek islands, which inevitably raises questions about the state of the marine ecosystem and the impact of human activity on the lives of dolphins and other species of the Aegean Sea.
