Greeks spend the most on housing EU
According to EurostatV 2024 Greek households spent on average housing expenses near 35.5% of available income. This is the highest figure in European Unionwhere the national average is approximately 19.2%.
For low-income households below 60% of the median, the situation is even more difficult: their housing payment burden reaches 62.8%. These data demonstrate how housing overload hits the most vulnerable groups.
