The case of the semi-state company Intellexa-KRIKEL creating surveillance programs entered a new phase after speaking in court former employee Intellexa company Panagiotis Koutsios.
His testimony caused a storm of indignation from the judges, who openly accused the witness of trying to hide the facts and avoid direct questions.
Koutsios worked in Intellexa from April 2021 to May 2022 as a pre-sales engineer. Despite the key role in promoting technologies related to data analysis and complex infrastructure Predatorhe claimed that he did not remember the name of the company in which he later worked and received more than 5,000 euros per month.
The court’s harsh reaction: “You’re making fun of us”
The chairman of the court, having heard the conflicting answers of the witness, stated: “You have been mocking us since yesterday. You won’t leave here if you continue to answer like that.”
Koutsios admitted that after leaving Intellexa a year later, he was hired by another company with a “different name” but the same software and the same people in management. In fact, we were talking about a successor organization. He stated: “I was trusted by people who paid on time”which caused a sharp reaction from the prosecutor: “You could just as well support a family if you were a mercenary killing children in Africa!”
Lavranos shell company network
From the case materials and inspections of financial authorities, a stable pattern emerges: Yannisa Lavranos managed structures through dummy directors, using fictitious identities or people without real involvement. This was typical for companies ELEKTRUM Technologies, Ioniki Technologiki, KRIKEL.
Lavranos used fake identities (false Antonio Sassi, Giorgio Antoneli), creating a chain of imaginary leaders. Similar manipulations were revealed in KRIKEL, where four fake directors acted successively:
- Eleni Kritsotakιa relative of Lavranos’ confidant.
- Polish citizen Stanislaw Pelczarrelated to Lavranos’ partner Felix Mbitzios.
- Stamatis Trimbalisan engineer who later left with a loud statement.
- Ioannis Karahalios33-year-old Roma, who has had no income since 2010, who, according to documents, liquidated the company.
Company employees confirm: Lavranos controlled operations, concluded contracts, managed funds and maintained relationships with banks. At the same time, on paper, the figures of the leaders were dummy.
Intellexa trace inside KRIKEL
The pre-trial investigation materials include data from Uber and Intellexa employee expense records – they record moves to the KRIKEL building at 5 Ifestu Street in Maroussia. The premises belonged to the company of Bitzios, a partner of Lavranos and co-owner of Intellexa. This confirms the close connection between the two organizations, which tried to hide.
Technical Director of KRIKEL Sotiris Dalas appears in the installation of legal wiretapping systems for EΥΠ (RCS Lab), as well as in the operational affairs of Predator. Despite numerous requests from the opposition, he was never called to testify.
Has never been called in this way Nikos Liolιος – Lavranos’s right hand, a person who knows the structure of all companies and operations, including fictitious accounts, TETRA, contracts with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Lavranos’ network of international companies.
Systemic evasion of transparency
Materials from financial authorities revealed 8.7 million euros in fictitious contracts and paymentssigned personally by Lavranos, despite the fact that the company was officially managed by the non-existent Sassi. This confirms that the real management structure was carefully disguised.
Data from employee emails show direct leadership on the part of Lavranos in competitions and public procurements in 2022, where his proxies acted on behalf of KRIKEL. Some of the letters are signed by S. Dalas as “Managing Director”. This completely contradicts official statements of non-involvement.
Critical Question: Will all this data lead to a real investigation into the Predator scandal?or will the matter be limited to the trial of the “autophoracids*”?
*“Αυτοφωράκηδες” (autophorakides) is Greek slang. In Russian: “switchmen”, “scapegoats”, “dummy people”, “acting Pound”, who are left to “take the rap” in the event of criminal prosecution.
To be continued.
