Farmer protests continue to expand throughout Greece, with new “blocks” appearing every day and key roads and border crossings operating intermittently. The tension centers on the highways of Northern Greece, a number of regional roads and several strategic points on the national network.
The site is temporarily closed due to protests Egnatia Odos from the East to West junctions of Komotini, in the direction from Alexandroupolis to Xanthi. Traffic is redirected to urban and rural roads through Komotini along a route determined by the police, taking into account the weight of the vehicle and the condition of the road situation.
At the toll booth Malgars farmers in the Delta municipality have been keeping the route to Athens closed since December 1, and the lane to Thessaloniki is periodically opened and closed again. They are supported by truck drivers, taxi owners, market representatives and even funeral home workers who arrive at the scene in hearses.
The block at customs continues to be strengthened Evzoni on the border with North Macedonia. Farmers have introduced symbolic traffic restrictions: they allow agricultural products and emergency vehicles to pass through, but restrict other categories of transport. In Pieria, farmers from Eginio raised their own block. They held a morning car rally around the city, and in the afternoon they closed the entrance to and exit from the settlement as part of a symbolic action.
On December 5, the block is being prepared by farmers from Epanomi, Trilofos, VasiliK, Galatista, Triglia and other areas, who will place equipment at a strategic point “Prasina Fanaria” close to Macedonia airport.
A general meeting will be held in the Lagkadas zone this evening to determine the date and time for the start of the blocking Derveniu at the intersection of the old national road Thessaloniki-Kavala.

In Western Achaia, farmers held a rally against the backdrop of the grand opening of the last 10 km of the route Patras–Pyrgos. The convoy of agricultural machinery passed the old national road to Midilogli, where the participants tried to convey their demands to the Minister of Infrastructure, Christian Dimas.
The most tense situation is in Nicaeawhere farmers have kept the Athens-Thessaloniki National Road closed for the third day. Their number is growing, new tractors are arriving from the villages of Larisa. Support is provided by taxi drivers, producers and market sellers, as well as doctors from the Larissa University Hospital.
The farmers of Trikala and Karditsa remain in their blocks and are preparing for increased action. In Karditsa the unit is installed on the highway E-65where protesters say they are ready for further escalation. In Trikala, farmers blocked both directions of traffic at toll booths Longoslifting tractors onto the National Road.
