Rhodes: 55-year-old who raped his minor daughter for 12 years was taken into custody

Court of Rhodes made a decision on pre-trial detention 55 year old manwhom investigators accuse of years of sexual abuse against his own daughter. According to investigators, the episodes, which included rape, domestic violence and incest, spanned the period from November 2010 to January 2022.

During interrogation, the accused denied the charges and stated that the relationship with his daughter was “voluntary” and took place “for a short time when she was already of age”. The man also questioned the results of a DNA test confirming his paternity of a three-year-old child and requested a re-analysis.

The investigation indicates that the defendant’s arguments contradict the case materials and the testimony of the victim. The prosecutor’s office and the investigative court agreed that there is a risk of repetition of illegal actions, and the gravity of the charges requires the use of a preventive measure in the form of detention.

According to the testimony 31-year-old victimthe abuse began when she was a minor living in her grandmother’s house with her father after her parents’ divorce. For a number of years, according to the applicant, criminal acts were committed systematically. She also said that she made attempts to leave her place of residence, but the accused continued to exert pressure and exercise control.
