Russian President Vladimir Putin made one of the sharpest comments in recent months, saying that if Europe intends to start a war, then Russia “ready now.”
This position was made against the backdrop of the arrival of American negotiators in Moscow. Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
According to the Russian leader, European states “do not have a peace agenda” and in fact “advocate war”putting forward demands to Kyiv that Moscow considers absolutely unacceptable.

Putin noted that Russia “could cut off Ukraine from the sea”if Kyiv continues attacks against Russian ships. He stressed that the operations of Russian forces “are surgical in nature” and this is “not war” in the classical sense, but in the event of a direct collision with Europe, the situation will be different.
“The most radical way is to cut off Ukraine from the sea. Then it will be impossible to engage in piracy in general in principle,” he added.
About Europe, negotiations and the role of the United States
The Russian President stated that Europe lives with the illusion of possibility inflict a “strategic defeat” on RussiaAlthough “at the level of common sense he understands that this is impossible”. Moreover, according to him, the Europeans are “obstructing Donald Trump’s peace initiative,” and all their proposals are aimed at disrupting it.
Putin warned that if Europe went to war against Russia, Moscow “soon will have no one to negotiate with.”
About Pokrovsk and the military situation
The President confirmed that Pokrovsk (formerly Krasnoarmeysk) is under the complete control of Russian troops, calling the city “an important fortified zone” Ukrainian army, which has now come under Russian control.

He added that Russia intends to intensify attacks on Ukrainian ports and take action against tankers that, in its opinion, are helping Ukraine.
Concluding his speech, Putin criticized the leadership of Ukraine, saying that it “lives on another plane” and is “occupied only with begging for money” and not solving real economic and military issues.”
