Saturday morning at Daphne Eurytania a rescue operation unfolded, which could well become the plot for a rural version “Mission: Impossible”.
This time the object of the dramatic challenge was not tourists or fans of extreme sports, but five goatswho managed to climb into a part of the slope where only very brave or very stupid animals usually go.
Two members were involved in the operation Evrytania Rescue Corps and five firefighters from the department Karpenisi. The team worked with impressive seriousness, although the animals themselves, judging by their behavior, apparently considered this to be part of a busy weekend program.
After about one and a half hours After a coordinated effort, rescuers carefully freed the goats from the trap. The animals were handed over to the owner, who had been standing aside since early morning, either worrying, sighing, or perhaps promising himself to buy leashes or GPS collars so that such adventures would not happen again.
The operation was completed successfully, and the goats – slightly frightened, but completely unperturbed – went home, leaving behind them a classic rural question: Who does rescue work more often – people or animals?
