Russia threatens with response: Statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry due to the agreement between Greece and Ukraine on sea drones

Russia sharply criticized the government Kyriakos Mitsotakissaying that Athens is “taking open hostile actions” and has set a course for further aggravation of relations. The reason was the agreement Greece And Ukraine on the joint production of unmanned marine vehicles.

Representative Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova characterized the actions of Athens as “openly hostile”noting: “The so-called agreements with the Nazi regime in Kyiv on November 17, including the deployment and use of unmanned marine vehicles, were further confirmation of this.”.

She reminded that “Athens was among the first to send weapons and ammunition to Ukraine”emphasizing that these supplies are used “against civilians in the Donbass, areas of Zaporozhye, Kherson, Crimea and other southern territories.”

Zakharova specifically mentioned the presence Greek communities in these territories, noting their historical depth. According to a department spokeswoman, the decisions of the Greek government “cannot go unanswered.”

During the briefing she stated: “This action, like many other anti-Russian actions of the collective West, aimed at defeating Russia on the battlefield, received the necessary assessment from us, and a proper response will follow.”.

In doing so, Moscow made it clear that it views the new cooperation between Athens and Kyiv in the field of maritime drones as part of a wider confrontation, where Greece takes the side of Ukraine and Western allies.
