Attacks on the Russian Federation: Ukraine attacked the Ryazan and Ilsky oil refineries


Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that on Thursday night they attacked two large Russian oil refining facilities – Ryazan Refinery And Ilsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar region. Both enterprises are considered strategically important for providing Russian defense and energy infrastructure.

According to a statement from the Ukrainian side, the blow to the oil refinery in Ryazan hit the oil secondary processing zones, after which large-scale fires broke out on the territory of the enterprise. This plant has already become the target of Ukrainian attacks last week.

In a separate message, the head of the Ukrainian units of unmanned systems noted that the strike was also carried out on Ilsky Oil Refinery – one of the most vulnerable targets in southern Russia, which has been repeatedly attacked since 2023. It is alleged that the missile and drone attack took place on Wednesday night.

The Ukrainian side emphasizes that Ryazan Oil Refinery is one of the largest in Russia, with a design capacity 17.1 million tons of crude oil per year. The company produces gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, LPG and other petroleum products. Every year the plant produces about 840 thousand tons of kerosene and participates in the supply of aviation units Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation.

In addition to attacks on oil refining, Ukraine announced the defeat of the “military concentration center of Russian forces” in the region Donetsk. The details and extent of the damage were not specified, but according to Ukrainian commanders, the attack was aimed at a gathering place of personnel and equipment.

The Russian side has not yet provided official comments on the condition of the facilities.
