The Turkish presidential administration called disinformation reports from a number of local media that supplies of Russian natural gas to Turkey will allegedly be stopped due to the signed agreement on LNG from USAwhich allegedly threatens an energy crisis.
The official statement of the Center for Combating Disinformation under the Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidency (11/18/2025) emphasizes that Türkiye, thanks to its infrastructural capabilities – gas pipelinesterminals LNG and underground storage facilities, “is one of the strongest countries in the region in terms of energy security“
The statement reads: “There is no risk that there will be problems with gas supply security or an energy crisis – neither today nor in the coming winter“
It is separately emphasized that natural gas supplies to Turkey from Russian Federation continue “without interruptionin full accordance with the schedules established by long-term contracts between the competent structures of the two countries.”
The administration explains that gas purchases from various sources, including USA, Azerbaijan, Iran, Algeria, Oman and Qatarare a “technical choice” aimed at diversification supply, increased competition and increased flexibility of the national energy supply system.
Thus, Ankara fully rejects publicationsclaiming that LNG agreement with the USA may lead to a cessation of Russian supplies or to a possible deterioration of the situation on the country’s gas market.
