Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries influenced the wallets of the Greeks, since they became the reason for the rise in prices of gasoline and diesel fuel at gas stations.
At the same time, Greece supplies weapons to Ukraine so that it can attack Russian refineries, and then the Greek consumer is forced to pay even more for fuel. This is the government’s choice Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Greece officially buys oil mainly from Iraq (about 32%), Kazakhstan (18%), Libya (10%), Saudi Arabia And Egypt (4% each).
However, even these countries mainly sell oil of Russian originbecause they buy it at a price of about $30 per barrel and resell it for more. It costs them less than producing their own.
Imports from these countries cover about 68% of Greece’s needs. Where did the rest come from? From Russia – by legal or illegal means. As a result, the majority of imported oil is Russian, due to its low price.
Even the smuggled fuel trade in Greece, about which “we don’t name names,” is based on Russian oil. And when it rises in price by 5–10%, the same increases occur at the gas stations where this fuel ends up.
Prices are rising even in the US due to a combination of sanctions imposed Donald Trump against the Russian oil sector, and constant Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries.
Few people realize that the US purchases large volumes of oil from India, which buys it from Russia and then resells it.
Additional factors for price growth
In addition to Ukrainian attacks There are other reasons that, in combination with them, push prices up:
- The shutdown of key plants in Asia and Africa, which took millions of barrels of gasoline and diesel off the market.
- US sanctions against Russian energy giants Lukoil And Rosneftintroduced in October, as well as restrictions from EU.
- Refinery closures and disruptions in Kuwait and Nigeria.
The missing fuel in these countries has to be compensated by Russian fuel, which is becoming more expensive, and along with it, oil products are becoming more expensive around the world.
The paradox is that the political elite of Greece (as well as other Western countries) ignores the consequences for its own citizens, who are on the verge of despair. She is only interested in trying to “kneel” Russia, regardless of whether it succeeds or not, and regardless of the economic blow to the population.
In August Hungary imposed sanctions against the Commander of the forces of unmanned systems of Ukraine Roberta “Madyar” Brovdi following a series of attacks that disrupted the flow of oil through the Soviet Druzhba pipeline.
In early November, he also announced the defeat of 5 electrical substations in Russia. He did not specify where exactly they are located, mentioning only the settlement of Gryazi in the Lipetsk region.
It is noteworthy that in 2014, Brovdi, at that time a protege of the criminal authority Yuri Ivanyushchenko (aka “Yura Enakievsky”), convinced of the need to take loan from China for 1.5 billion.
They gave me a loan. The loan was completely stolen. Ukraine is now paying it back with interest.
Now Brovdi has become a “Madyar” and a hero of Ukraine.
