“He shot at the windows of the house with a Kalashnikov” – a witness spoke about the tragedy in Vorizya

“It all happened in the morning, around nine. Three men arrived, one holding suitcases. They shout: “Police!” I go out onto the balcony and see a black car. At first I didn’t pay any attention. And then the one in the car took out his Kalashnikov and started shooting at the houses. Right in front of the cops! One bullet hit my house.” – the man recalls.

“He fired for a long time, probably thirty or fifty bullets. The police grabbed me by the hand, dragged me into the house and said: “Sit here, don’t stick your head out, they might kill us.”

The journalist asks: “But there was shooting the night before?” – “Yes, on Friday evening. I recognized him – the one with the black BMW. He fired, got into the car and drove away along the road from the village, pressing the horn,” – the witness answers.

“At that moment I was at home with my daughter and son. The rest are below, near their houses. When the first shots started, everyone ran out into the street. My cousin screamed what with Fanouris something happened. We only had time to exchange words – and then the shooting started.”.

“They didn’t like that we had police. That’s where it all started.” – the man added.

Police are continuing their investigation, reviewing camera footage and interviewing witnesses. Authorities are urging residents to remain calm and not spread unconfirmed rumors while the investigation is ongoing.
