Knife fight between fans in Chalkis: a 23-year-old AEK fan was stabbed to death

According to investigators, eight people took part in the fight – four on each side. The young people arrived in two cars and arranged a meeting in the area of ​​Lelandion Street. During the conflict, one of the participants was fatally stabbed and was taken to the hospital by a private car, the driver of which immediately fled.

The murdered man was an AEK fan and, together with other fans of the club, took part in a fight with Olympiacos fans, which led to a tragic outcome.

The victim died despite the efforts of doctors. Soon the police detained five people: three fans AEKone Olympiacos and another man who previously appeared in the case of murder of a policeman Georgios Lingerides during fan riots near Renty Stadium in December 2023.

The suspect was detained at Eleftheria Square in Chalkis. He was wounded and was in hospital, but denies participation in the fatal fight. One more Olympiacos fanbelieved to be involved in the attack, is being sought.

Later in the evening there was a second knife attack in the same area in which a young man was injured. His condition remains unknown. Police are checking to see if the two incidents are related.

As the representative of the press service clarified Greek police (ΕΛ.ΑΣ.) Constantine Dimoglidoua total of eight people were involved in the collision. “We are looking for two more participants. None of the identified persons have previously been brought to justice“, she stated.
