Employees Greek police (ΕΛ.ΑΣ.) arrested 35-year-old citizen of Georgia at the airport “Macedonia” V Thessaloniki. The man tried to fly into Israelusing a fake passport issued in the name of an Israeli citizen.
As stated in the official statement of ΕΛ.ΑΣ, the arrest took place in the morning October 28, 2025. During passport control, airport security staff discovered that the document presented by the passenger was false.

“Employees of the Security Department of the Thessaloniki Airport Police Department arrested a 35-year-old Georgian citizen who was using a fake passport with the details of another person who intended to fly to Israel.”the police said in a statement.
On the same day, late in the evening, the police detained another man – 29 year old foreignerwho, as it turned out during the check, illegally crossed the border and was in the country without permission.
Both detainees were taken to the police station, and criminal cases were opened against them. After completing the formalities, the materials are sent to competent judicial authorities for further proceedings.
Greek authorities continue to strengthen control at airportsespecially in relation to counterfeit documents and violations of migration laws, noting an increase in such incidents in recent months.
