Explosion at a train station in the Zhytomyr region: four dead, 12 injured


At the train station in a Ukrainian city Ovruchlocated in the northern part Zhytomyr regionthere was a powerful explosion. According to the agency APfour people were killed and twelve more were injured.

According to preliminary data, the explosion was caused by a 23-year-old man from Kharkov. While checking documents on the platform, he pulled out a grenade and activated it. He died on the spot from his injuries. It is known that this person had already tried illegally cross the western border of Ukraine and was detained by border guards.

The incident occurred against the backdrop of action martial law in Ukraine: men aged 22 to 60 are prohibited from leaving the country without special permission. This fact, according to investigators, may be related to the motives of the incident.
