According to information Investigative Committeethe incident occurred in one of the plant’s workshops. The main reason given was violations of safety rules in the technological process. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 217, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – violation of industrial safety requirements resulting in the death of two or more people.
Consequences and reaction of the authorities
Governor Alexey Teksler reported that a municipal emergency regime has been introduced. Five victims were hospitalized, their condition is assessed as stable and serious. Rescue services continue to clear the rubble and search for possible survivors.
