Minister of Defense of Greece Nikos Dendis visited HF 306th ΥΠΕΘΑ (Acharnes) and announced expanded production UAV: From FPV and Category I platforms to larger models. The annual capacity exceeds 1,000 drones, which was achieved in a short time in cooperation with the Innovation Directorate, ΚΕΤΑΚ and ΕΛΚΑΚ.
Rely on proprietary technologies and software
In the 306th EBT, they not only assemble devices, but also create software, flight simulators and provide service. The approach aims to eliminate “buying off the shelf,” reducing cost and dependence on external suppliers.
Mobile stations for the front
Two prototypes of portable stations for field assembly of FPVs have been developed. They will be shown for the first time at the parade on October 28 in Thessaloniki. The task is to promptly replenish the UAV fleet directly from combat units.
Nomenclature: multicopters and “wing”
The line covers quadcopters and devices with a fixed wing. Missions: surveillance, reconnaissance, load shedding and kamikaze. Additionally, there are two mobile lines for work near the areas of application.
M1117 with sensors and drone
The 306th EBT participated in the modernization of the M1117: electro-optical sensors and a reconnaissance drone associated with the platform were installed on the vehicles. The updated complexes will be paraded in Thessaloniki.
“Agenda 2030” and the national competence base
The project is positioned as a “leap” to a new weapons architecture: Greek developments, Greek software, local service (Chinese components). The Ministry of Defense is talking about systematically building up capabilities to deter threats.
