Last weekend, the United States turned into a movie set once again. Movement “No Kings” brought tens of thousands of people onto the streets – from New York to Portland. The slogan is simple: “No kings needed.” Reality is more complicated: There’s a man sitting in the White House who just tried on the crown..

In Portland, the protest quickly moved from a manifesto to a pogrom. Demonstrators tried to storm the office ICEthe police responded with chemicals and rubber projectiles. The smell of gas and American democracy was in the air, the kind they usually bring to other countries of the world.

And here Trump decided to intervene – not with a speech, but with video created by a neural network. In the video, the president sits in the cockpit F-18a crown on his head, protesters underneath him. He “bombards” them with brown rain from the clouds – the metaphor came out without a translator. The Internet exploded with laughter, outrage and fecal jokes. The world press was confused: either a report or a political stand-up.

The protests were organized by democratic and leftist movements – Indivisible, ACLU, MoveOn, AFL-CIO And Democratic Socialists of America. Joined them Antifa and activists from various NGOs. Slogans about freedom mixed with the aroma of gas, and somewhere between the slogans “No Kings” and “Down with Fascism” a pixelated Trump with a golden crown hovered in the sky.

Demonstrators and police were frolicking in the streets, and there was a show on the Internet. America is finally united – albeit in a chorus of Homeric laughter. Democrats posted footage from Portland, Republicans posted footage from AI video, and no one understood where the movie ended and life began.
Political observers have noticed: the country that dreamed of saving democracy is now living according to the laws of comedy. “No Kings” They demanded that the monarchs be removed, but they got another one – a digital one. And it looks like this king is going to rule content longer than the White House.
