The results show that the vast majority of citizens are confident: corruption in Greece is on the rise. 67.4% of respondents think so, another 23.2% believe that the level of corruption has remained the same. In other words, nine out of ten Greeks see no improvement.

“The authorities are hiding corruption”

Against this background, 61% of respondents expressed confidence European Prosecutor’s Officewhich indicates a crisis within national institutions.

Greek political priorities

According to the study, 58.1% of voters choose parties based on their programs on specific social issues, 23.7% are guided by ideology, and 16.8% are guided by the personality of the leader.

The main criterion for voting remains fight against rising prices (61.8%), then – improving healthcare (45.5%), and fight against corruption takes third place. This is followed by foreign policy, defense and education.

Criticism from inside and outside

It’s already third survey since Augustshowing that the government Kyriakos Mitsotakis loses support on key issues of concern to society. It is noteworthy that Parapolitika FM is part of a media holding close to the ruling party, which makes the results especially significant.

Former Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis in one of his rare speeches warned of the risk of undermining institutions and indirectly accused the government of trying to influence the judiciary. The former minister gave a similar assessment Evangelos Venizeloswho stated on ERT: “The country has become ungovernable, we are in an institutional and value dead end

Even inside New Democracy Doubts are growing: MPs note a “gradual decline” in ratings and are waiting for either decisive steps from the Prime Minister himself, or changes from within the party.

Greeks increasingly perceive corruption as a systemic disease of power, and justice as a political instrument. And this diagnosis sounds louder than any government statements about “reforms.”
