The Guardian published a list of 18,457 children killed in Gaza


The Guardian published names 18,457 childrenkilled in the sector Gaza as a result of Israeli attacks. According to Palestinian doctors, by the end of July 2025, a total of 60,199 deadalmost a third of them are minors.

Human rights organizations, scientists on issues genocide and UN officials say Israel’s actions in Gaza are consistent with signs mass destruction of civilians. The official balance sheet after two years of war shows: more 67,000 deadamong them – no less 20,000 children.

Children make up a third of all deaths

According to the publication, the list was compiled based on information from local medical structures. The UN reports that more 40,000 children were injured, many with amputations. Gaza now ranks first in the world in terms of the number of disabled children.

A scale like no other

For comparison: during the Israeli operation “Cast Lead” in 2008, 345 children died, and in the operation “Protective Edge” in 2014 – 548. Now we are talking about tens of thousands. In Syria, about 19,000 children died during the four years of war (2011–2015), but with a population ten times that of Gaza.

According to the organization Save the Childrendied in Gaza one out of every fifty childrenwho lived there before the war. Head of the PRIO Research Institute Gudrun Estby stated: “Gaza’s children are experiencing some of the most intense levels of violence recorded in decades”.

The moral collapse of war

As the publication notes, the Israeli military and politicians are aware of the scale of child deaths. One former intelligence chief stated bluntly that “doesn’t matter anymoreamong the dead are children or adults.” In Israeli political circles the phrase is increasingly heard “There are no innocents in Gaza”.

At the same time, official Israeli propaganda claims that all such information is fake.

Guardian emphasizes: even if the names of all the dead cannot be collected, the already published list is document of the eratragic evidence of a war in which thousands of children lost their lives.
