Photo of the day: Rion-Antirion bridge

One of the most Long in the world of multi -span cable bridges (2 880 m) and the longest of a completely suspended type in Europe.

The length of the span of the Greek bridge is 2,252 m, makes it the second in length by the suspended span structure in the world after the French viaduct Miyo (2,460 m).

For comparison, the length of the span “Golden Gate” in San Francisco is 1 966 m.

Rion-Antirion Crosses the Corinthian Bay, connecting the city Rio (now as part of the city of Patra) on the Peloponnes Peninsula with the city Antirio on mainland Greece.
