Houses turn into "paired": Due to climate changes, the humidity in the rooms reaches up to 70%

Greek apartments They turn in the summer In a real Russian bathhouse – with heat up to +34 ° C and a moisture content of 70%. This conclusion came to the study Greenpeace And Ειπακspent in the summer of 2025 in Athens, Patra, Larisa, Thessaloniki, Kalambak, Kozani and Iraklion.

The project was attended by 29 houses of three categories: without insulation, partially modernized and the so -called “passive”. The results were shocking: in houses without thermal insulation, the temperature was held at a level of 30–32 ° C, and sometimes rose to 34–35 ° C. A record was recorded in the patra – +35 ° C inside the apartment. Add to this Humidity up to 70%and life turns into a pair.

In modernized buildings, the conditions were slightly softer – 27–29 ° C. And here passive houses showed the result: the temperature remained in the region of 26 ° C, humidity – within acceptable limits, and level CO2 did not exceed 1000 PPM. For comparison, in ordinary apartments with closed windows and a working air conditioner, concentrations of up to 3000 PPM are recorded – in fact, suffocating the atmosphere.

Experts remind: The ideal temperature for living in summer is 26 ° C, humidity is 35–55%. In most Greek houses, these parameters are violated. More than half of the housing stock was built until 1980, when no one thought about thermal insulation. Today it turns around heat traps.

“Climatic policy should take into account housing as a key factor. Without large -scale energy renovations, we will live like in a bath every summer “, – emphasizes Kostas Kaludis from Greenpeace. His colleague Alkis Kafedzis adds: “measures are needed precisely to protect the most vulnerable families.”

According to Stefanos Pallandzas, the head Ειπακthe situation is obvious: “We have low -quality buildings. There is only one solution – mass energy -modernization programs. ” But the current plans of the state look modest: only 6,500 euros per housing, which allows only minimal improvements.

Conclusion: Greek apartments without isolation turn in the summer not into houses, but into paired ones. And while the state thinks, people continue to live in Hammama – not of their own free will.
