The naval forces of France reported on the largest operation of 2025: off the coast West Africa 9.6 tons of cocaine were seized with a total cost of about 519 million euros. Drugs were transported on a fishing vessel that did not have a national flag.
According to the Atlantic Marine Command, the special operation has passed September 22 by the forces of two French ships. The action has become part of a permanent mission “CoryMbe”operating since 1990 in Guinean Gulf. Its goal is to increase security in the water area where cases are regularly recorded Piracy and smuggling.
According to the French military, confiscated drugs will be destroyed. The fate of the crew has not yet been disclosed. Such vessels after operations are usually released without cargo.
