Consider several characteristic cases of reduction tax minimum for maintaining a car:
- Toyota Corolla 1.8 Hybrid – Today, the tax minimum of 7,600 €, from 2026 it falls up to 2,000 €.
- Honda Jazz 1.5 Hybrid – From 5,800 € is reduced to 2,000 €.
- Audi Q3 35TDI – From 8 800 € decreases to 2,645 €.
- Electric cars up to 50,000 € Save the zero minimum. For more expensive models, it decreases from 4,000 € to 2,000 €.
These changes strengthen the position of the market of electric vehicles, creating incentives for replacing old cars with new, more energy -efficient ones.
Before the reform, cars were taxed by the tax minimum based on cubic centimeters of the engine. There were discounts for age: −30% for cars 5-10 years and −50% for cars over 10 years.
Old order (by engine volume):
- up to 1,200 cubic meters: 4,000 € (new) – 2,000 € (over 10 years old)
- 1 201–2 000 cubic meters: 6,000 € (new) – 3,000 € (over 10 years old)
- 2 001-3 000 cubic meters: 9,000 € (new) – 4 500 € (over 10 years old)
- over 3,000 cubic meters: 12,000 € (new) – 6,000 € (over 10 years old)
New order (in co₂, for cars after 11.11.2010):
- 1–122 g/km CO₂: 20 € per gram
- 123–139 g/km Co₂: 30 € per gram
- 140–166 g/km Co₂: 45 € per gram
- > 166 g/km Co₂: 60 € per gram
Electric cars:
- up to 50,000 €: 0 € (unchanged)
- over 50,000 €: a minimum decrease with 4,000 € to 2,000 €
Conclusion: Reform directly affects demand: energy -efficient models become more attractive, and categories burdened with the old system become a chance to return the market share.
