In the port of Igumenitsa A large -scale operation to identify a large batch of drugs has been carried out. According to police, prohibited substances were found in a truck arrived from Italy. A 52-year-old driver was detained.
The total cost of the seized drugs is estimated more than in 2.7 million euros. The operation took place with the participation Coast guard of Greece (λιμενικό σώμα)the regional group for the fight against drugs (π.ο.δι.ν.), the K-9 dog training unit and the security service of the local port.
It is the service dog named “Vlad” I pointed out a suspicious load. During the inspection, hidden cardboard boxes with drugs were found in the pallet with legal goods. Seized:
- 30 packets with processed hemp (hash), the total weight is 15.19 kg;
- 56 vacuum packages of hydroponic hemp (Skunk), the total weight is 60.89 kg;
- 10 cocaine briquettes with various logos, the total weight is 11.3 kg.
In addition to drugs, the detainee has two mobile phones, a tablet, as well as a truck with a trailer. The vehicle will be transferred to the customs of igumenitsa for further actions.
The investigation is conducting Central Office of Coast Guard Igumenitsa. Active searches for the recipients of cargo in Greece are underway. The channels of international cooperation with European law enforcement agencies are also involved, which should help in the complete elimination of the criminal channel.
