What cockroaches are found in Greece

Speaking about the varieties of cockroaches living in Greece, the professor distinguishes the American and German as the most common. However, according to him, the presence of three more species is also fixed in the country.

In general, as a specialist recalls, more than 3,500 varieties of cockroaches are known in the world. Returning to the species representing the greatest problem for Greece, Professor Kiulos describes in detail the main of them, quotes CNN GREECE:

A special threat is for food establishments, the professor says:

“There is also Red cockroach (Blattella), which, although smaller in size, is especially often infects commercial premises. For public catering establishments, this can be a real disaster. This species differs in high fertility – in one egg bag contains from 36 to 40 eggs, while in other cockroaches – from only 16 to 20. ”

The professor also mentions two more species that are relatively often found in Greece. The first of them It resembles a red cockroachhas brown stripes on the body and, according to Kiulos, prefers the premises.

There are also two rare species that can be attributed to agroid.
