A cruise fee enters into force on Monday July 21: an additional fee will be charged from passengers who have come ashore from a cruise ship in the country’s port.
A special fee is installed in the amount of 20 euros per person for ports of mycorros and Santorini, and 5 euros for the rest.
The Greece government explained that the introduction of a new tax is associated with an excessive number of tourists on the islands, especially on Mikonos and Santorini, where the collection is the highest. In Athens, they say that they use additional income to improve port infrastructure.
We talked in detail about cruise collection in the material “Greece: tax for passengers of cruise ships”.
