A week later, July 14, summer sales begin in Greece. They will last until August 31.

On the first Sunday of sales, that is, July 20, shops can work. We remind you that during sales, retail sellers are required to clearly display the initial and new prices for goods at a discount so that consumers personally convince the proposed benefit of the purchase of the proposed goods.

Especially for constant discounts, in accordance with the new ethics code (ministerial decree 66877/30-8-2024), price reduction may have the following form, tells Newsbeast.gr:

• percentage (%), for example, “20%discount”,
• A specific amount, for example, “Discount 10 euros”,
• An indication of a new, lower price, along with an indication of the previous one, for example, “now 50 euros, earlier than 100 euros.”

The previous price can also be displayed crossed out, for example: “50 euros 100 euros“.
