On Friday June 6 in the morning in the house where the refugee family lived from Ukraine, a fire broke out. A 46-year-old woman named Lilia, her six-year-old daughter Anna and a family dog ​​died. Later it turned out: The 16-year-old son of Lilia was involved in deathwho himself admitted to the crime.

Three years ago, the family from Lviv moved to Belgium, fleeing the war. At first they were in the refugee center, then at the foster family. On the morning of June 6, the neighbors noticed smoke leaving the windows of the house on Milsestraat Street. Firefighters managed to take control of the situation by 10:20. The bodies of two people were discovered inside the house. Lilia died on the spot, her little daughter died later, despite attempts at resuscitation. Their labrador Nicole dog also died.

The son of Lilia at the time of the incident was at school. At first he was considered a witness, but already during an interrogation that lasted five hours, the teenager admitted to double murder and arson of the house.

Motives and preliminary versions

According to the Belgian edition of HLN, the conflict in the family could be connected with money. The teenager worked as a waiter in a cafe and, according to his colleagues, a few days before the tragedy he spoke of his intention to kill his family.

“He mentioned this three days before the fire. One of his colleagues realized that it was serious when he saw the news, ”the HLN eyewitness quotes.

Investigators found that on the day of the murder between a teenager and Lily, a conflict on household grounds occurred: a quarrel due to study and pocket money grew into a fight, during which he inflicted mortal wounds on his mother and his half-sister.

There is evidence that shortly after the tragedy the young man acquired an iPhone and transferred 3,000 euros to a girl to whom he had feelings, but did not receive reciprocity. In social networks, the teenager’s friends write that he had long expressed hostility to his stepmother.

Lilia was not a biological mother of a teenager. He is the son of her husband from her first marriage, like his older sister Alina. The murdered six -year -old girl Anna was the common daughter of Lilia and her spouse. All three children lived with Lily in Belgium, while the father remained in Ukraine. Alina, the older sister, initially did not believe in the involvement of her brother. She told reporters that he called her on the day of the tragedy in tears, reporting a fire:

Now the guy is in a closed institution for minors in Everberg. In the near future he will appear before the Juvenile Court.
