US President Donald Trump decided to introduce two thousand fighters of the National Guard in Los Angeles in connection with large-scale protests that broke out due to the intensified policy of deportation of illegal migrants.
The measure was undertaken on the evening of June 7, against the backdrop of the growing discontent with the actions of the federal authorities.
“The answer to lawlessness” is the White House
Trump spokesman Karolin Levitt said Washington “acts in response to the riots that the California authorities allowed to grow.” According to her, the administration adheres to zero tolerance for violence, especially against police officers. She also accused the leadership of California and Los Angeles-both posts are occupied by democrats-inability to ensure order.
Trump himself sharply criticized the Governor of California Gavin Newsom and the mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass, calling them incompetent. In his message on the Truth Social platform, he used the derogatory nickname “Newscum” for the governor, emphasizing that if the local authorities can not cope, the federal government will intervene.
The governor and mayor opposed

The mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass also condemned the actions of the federal authorities, especially after the raids of the immigration service (ICE). In response to this, the ICE representative, Tom Hawman, said that his department was making the city “safer”, and the basket should “thank” them for this.
The Pentagon threatens to attract the army
Defense Minister Pit Hegset warned that if the situation is aggravated, marine infantrymen from the Camp Pendleton base will be involved in the operation. According to him, the units are already brought into a state of increased readiness.
Violence on the streets: clashes, gas and arrests
The protests grew into clashes in the Paramount area-mainly Latin American suburb of Los Angeles. Promotors threw ICE agents with objects, fired at firecrackers, burned American flags and built barricades. Federal agents used light -school grenades, tear gas and arrested. Part of the motorway was blocked.
FBI deputy director Dan Bongino confirmed mass detentions, saying:
“You bring chaos – we bring handcuffs. The law and order will be restored.”
Background tension and escalation
The protests began after large -scale ICE raids on June 6, when the agents patrolled the city and detained migrants from construction stores, where they are traditionally looking for a part -time job. Protesters already attacked the column of cars with eggs with eggs, and the police used grenades to accelerate the crowd.
Hundreds of demonstrators that evening gathered in the center of Los Angeles with the requirements to free the detainees and stop violent deportations. The situation continues to remain tense, despite the statements of officials about the need to comply with order.
According to two sources of CNN, today Trump plans to hold a meeting with senior members of his administration on this issue. Trump's enemy Governor-Democrat of California News has already criticized the president’s decision on the troops, warning that this would “only intensify tension”.
