By the end of this year, the Public Service portal will post information about the locations of bomb shelters throughout Russia.

This was told by the deputy director of the Department of Civil Defense and Protection of the Population of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation Sergey Starovoitov when discussing this initiative in the Public Chamber, the Parliamentary newspaper writes.

Starovoitov claims tells BB.LV that every citizen will be able to go to the appropriate section on the portal and find out to which shelter he is assigned, and where it should be sent in case of an emergency.

In addition, information about the evacuation points will be available on the “State Services”, where it is necessary to arrive when announcing evacuation measures. Starovoitov noted that the system has already passed testing in the border regions – the Kursk and Belgorod regions.

The EMERCOM of Russia began to large -scale reconstruction and modernization of Soviet bomb shelters only at the end of May 2025, said the head of the department, Alexander Kurenkov. He indicated that the civil defense system gains more and more relevance in the conditions of an unleashed war with Ukraine, and this system needs to be urgently restored. According to the Ministry of Emergencies, unsuitable and partially suitable objects were flooded.
