The European Commission takes control of the platform with porn content

EC began an investigation into the activities of Pornhub, StripChat, XNXX and XVIDEOS platforms – how much they observe the ban on users who have not reached adulthood.

Verification for compliance with the law on digital conditions (Digital Services Act, DSA), in particular in the field of minor protection, is associated with suspicions that the above platforms with pornographic materials do not take effective measures to check the age of users to deprive minors of adult content.

The European Commission suggests that these platforms do not take measures to assess the risks and reduce any negative impact on the rights of the child, the mental and physical well -being of users.

The coordinated actions of the European Council on Digital Services are aimed at ensuring that these providers also observe the Law on Digital Services (DSA), follows from the press release.

Protection of minor users is the priority of DSA. Therefore, the law prescribes platforms with pornographic content:

2. delete materials violating the law in the short term,
3. Provide users with simplified opportunities to report about illegal content.

Large platforms are subject to more strict regulation than small ones. For violation of the law on digital services, a fine of up to a six -time annual turnover of the company is threatened.
