Streptococcus in children in Seryres and in Crete (video)


In kindergartens in Crete and in Sery, new cases of streptococcus were found. Schools in Thessaloniki are closed.

In children's preschool institutions, four cases of streptococcus were revealed: three in the municipality of the Castelli MinoA-Pedia in Crete, another in Oreocastro (Seryres) in kindergarten No. 6.

The municipal authorities, in direct cooperation with the leadership of the kindergarten in Oreokastro, immediately began the preventive disinfection of all premises, paying paramount attention to the health and safety of pupils and staff, tells CNN GREECE. The competent health authorities are informed. Today, the kindergarten will already work as usual.

Kindergarten in Kastelli will remain closed on Monday May 26 for precaution, since Streptococcus was found in three children. Mayor Vasilis Kegeroglu noted that the necessary disinfection will be carried out. He emphasizes that the parents of children who have passed or undergo testing in a pharmacy, or who have symptoms should immediately contact a medical institution:

“After positive tests for streptococcus in 3 children in Castelli kindergarten, it will remain closed tomorrow, on Monday, for preventive purposes and for the necessary disinfection. Parents of children who have passed or will be tested in a pharmacy or who have symptoms should immediately contact a pediatrician or health department. We have already verbally informed the management of primary education, the regional public health department and medical centers. ”

In the saloniki, the school complex on the scruce area, in which there are 5th and 13th elementary schools, as well as the 27th kindergarten will remain closed on Monday, since one child also found streptococcus. According to the municipality of Calamaria in Thessaloniki, the indoor gym located on the territory of the complex is also closed until Monday on May 26.

According to the municipality, the decision was made for precautions and in the context of protecting public health in accordance with the instructions of the National Public Health Organization (EDY). All school premises will be completely disinfected to ensure their safe use.
