Between Moscow and Kyiv, in accordance with Istanbul agreements, the first stage of large -scale exchange of prisoners took place.

390 people returned to Ukraine from Russian captivity. 270 military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and 120 civilians were transferred to Russia, official sources reported on both sides.

This week, Kyiv and Moscow sent lists of people to be returned. Each of the parties sent 270 military and 120 civilians to their homeland. The transfer of the rest in the framework of the “1000 per 1000” format can take place in the next few days.

This is the largest since 2022 exchange. The President of Zelensky called him perhaps the only result of the negotiations on May 16, when the Russian and Ukrainian delegations met in Turkey.

Ukraine, as part of the exchange of prisoners on May 23, handed over to Russia 70 people convicted on charges of cooperation with the Russian special services, including the associate of Viktor Medvedchuk – Alexander Tarnashinsky:
