Mitsikitis received a reward for the economic indicators of Greece

For the reforms of the government and the restoration of the Greek economy, the Prime Minister of Greece Kiriacos Mitsik abouthsties was awarded at the conference of the German Economic Council.

During the award ceremony, the Greek prime minister said:

“Over the past 6 years, we have created 500,000 new jobs in Greece, and I believe that this is the most important achievement of our economic policy. This recognition is not only mine, it primarily belongs to the Greek people. ”

German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz congratulated the Prime Minister of Greece, saying that, in his opinion, he rightly accepted this award:

“Everything that I managed to achieve in your country is really important, and I sincerely congratulate you on these great successes of recent years.”

The Prime Minister of Greece, answering the chancellor of Germany and speaking of the people of his country, noted:

“They really survived great difficulties and victims, but at the same time the Greek people showed courage, because he accepted the changes and, of course, proved that he was very persistent. He never refused the promises of the future. And there was time, as you rightly noted when Greece was very often perceived as a problematic child of Europe. Because our ability to reform was in question. Our intentions were unclear to many, and even our place in the European family could be in question. However, this country, which was treated with great skepticism in Germany, is known for its determination, discipline, stamina and the ability to carry out complex reforms. ”

Having especially noted the fight against tax evasion, Kiriakos Mitsotakis said:

“When taxes are fighting with the help of digital instruments, as we did, the final result is that we can get more income from those who did not pay taxes in the past[…] Of course there was a reaction at first[…] Now that we generate additional income and can return these dividends of welfare to citizens, they understand that this reform works[…]”.

Kiriakos Mitsikitis, among other things, noted that in 2024 the initial surplus is expected to be about 2%, and in the end we are talking about 4.8%, adding:

“However, it is important that progress is reflected primarily at workplaces. Over the past 6 years, we have created 500,000 new jobs in Greece, and I believe that this is the most important achievement of our economic policy. ”

Concluding his speech, Mr. Mitsotakis said:

“Tonight was touching because he allowed me to think. This is a difficult journey, a journey that was unthinkable for many, but I believe that we were able to win, […] We are happy tonight to be able to share our own history and invite business to consider Greece as a place for investment. Therefore, I accept this medal on behalf of the Greek people. Thank you very much for the recognition and congratulations, Frederick, and I really look forward to the opportunity to work with you and your government. I warmly thank everyone for your trust in Greece. ”

The Chairman of the Economic Council of the CDU Astrid Hamker, referring to the Kiriakos Mitsikitisis, emphasized that, relying on his own principles, Greece was able to free herself from the shackles of memorandums.

For his part, Roland Koch, president of the Ludwig Erhard Foundation, noted quotes Cretapost.gr:

“We must not forget that Greece citizens suffered. We would say that they suffered huge sacrifices […]. But anyone who goes to Greece and talks with citizens understands that the actions of the government are aimed at the good of citizens. And this is very positive. “
